Set up Elementor

Elementor only edits the post types you allow. RowSprout does not change that setting for you.

  1. Go to Elementor → Settings → General → Post Types.

  2. Tick RowSprout Templates, so you can build templates with Elementor.

  3. Tick RowSprout Pages as well, so the generated pages are treated as Elementor pages everywhere in your site.

  4. Click Save Changes.

Now open a template under RowSprout → Templates and click Edit with Elementor.

In the widget panel, next to Elements and Globals, you find a RowSprout template tab. It opens the same General, Properties and Groups tabs as the WordPress screen: the address pattern (Href), the parent template, the properties and the rows. With RowSprout Pro, a Planning tab appears there too when you plan page updates (see below).

Make your changes there and click Save in that window. RowSprout checks them as on the WordPress screen; for example, it warns when two rows would get the same address and keeps the window open so you can fix it.

The save action decides what happens when you click Publish or Update in Elementor. Find it under Page Settings (the gear icon) → Settings → Save action:

  • Create & update pages generates the pages of every new or changed row in the background.
  • Save template only stores your changes without touching the pages. They are marked as outdated until you generate them.

RowSprout Pro adds two things to this section:

  • Schedule page updates generates nothing when you save. Instead, you give each row a date and time on the Planning tab of the RowSprout template tab, and its page is generated (and goes live) at that moment.
  • Regenerate all pages (ignore change detection) rebuilds every page of the template on this save, not only the pages of rows that changed.

While you design, the RowSprout widgets and tags show the values of one row. Choose which one under Page Settings → General Settings → Preview group, then click Refresh preview.

The preview group only affects the editor, never the pages. Until you choose, the editor shows the first row in alphabetical order.
