If / then widget

The If / then widget shows Then when the page’s values match your rules, and Else when they don’t. Find it in the RowSprout group of the widget panel while you edit a template. How rules work, and which operators each property type has, is explained in Show content per row (If / then).

The If / then section starts with a note on what the template’s preview group gets: whether the rules match, so Then is shown, or not. It also warns about a rule whose operator doesn’t fit its property, a property the template no longer has, or a rule on today’s date.

Setting What it does
If The rules. Each has And / or (how it joins the rule above; not shown for the first rule), Property, Operator and, when the operator needs one, Value (and And for is between). The operator list follows the type of the chosen property.
Then → Show A property (choose it under Property), Own text (a text editor, where placeholder tokens work too) or An Elementor template (choose it under Template; only with Elementor Pro).
Then → HTML tag The tag around a property or your own text: div, p, span, a heading and so on. Several paragraphs, or a bulleted or numbered list, are always in a div.
Else → Show Nothing (the default), or the same choices as Then.
Else → HTML tag Same as Then, or a tag of its own.
Show a list as For an Item-list property (Pro): Lines, Bulleted list, Numbered list or Separated by commas. Only shown when Then or Else shows such a property.

A property shows its value as text, the same as a block bound to it: a Textarea keeps its line breaks, and RowSprout Pro’s types (such as a formatted date or Rich text) are shown their own way. Thumbnail, File and Icon properties can be used in rules, but not shown.

Section Settings
Text Alignment, typography, Text color, text shadow and Space between paragraphs. For a property and your own text; an Elementor template keeps its own styling.
Links Typography, Link color and Link hover color.
Else A different look while Else is shown: typography, Text color, Background color and Padding. What you leave empty follows Text.

With Elementor Pro, Then and Else can each show a published template from Templates → Saved Templates, such as a section you designed once. RowSprout widgets in that template show the values of the page it appears on, so one designed block can serve every row. Placeholder tokens typed as text in it are not replaced: use the widgets, or Own text for a sentence with tokens.
