WPBakery Page Builder

You can design a RowSprout template with WPBakery Page Builder, including the builds that come bundled with themes such as Salient. The template opens in the classic editor with the RowSprout template box below it, so properties, rows and the save action work exactly as on the classic screen.

RowSprout turns WPBakery on for templates automatically, unless WPBakery’s Role Manager has its own list of post types. In that case the template screen shows a notice with a link:

  1. Click Open WPBakery Role Manager in the notice (or go to WPBakery Page Builder → Role Manager).

  2. Under Post types, add RowSprout Template, and save.

WPBakery has no RowSprout elements for single properties. You place values with placeholder tokens, such as @code_town_210@, typed in an element’s settings:

  • Text: in a Text Block or any text editor, use the Insert RowSprout property button in the toolbar to insert a token. For URL and Email properties it also offers Insert as link / Insert as email link.
  • Headings and button labels: type the token in the element’s text field, such as a Custom Heading Your roofer in @code_town_210@.
  • Links: type the token in the element’s link field, such as @code_website_210@, mailto:@code_email_210@ or tel:@code_phone_210@.

RowSprout writes the values the way WPBakery stores its settings itself, so a value with quotes, brackets or special characters doesn’t break the element.

The RowSprout pages category of the element picker holds the Grid, and with RowSprout Pro the RowSprout category holds the Item List.

Element What it does
Grid The generated pages of one template, as a list or as cards, on any page. Settings: RowSprout template, Layout (List or Cards), Columns (1–6), Show thumbnail and Thumbnail size (cards), Show title (Parent title or Child title, see the Grid widget) and Sort items. Its output is the same as the Grid block and Elementor widget.
Item List (Pro) An Item-list property of the page as a bulleted list, in 1 to 4 Columns. Only in templates.

There is no WPBakery element for a Thumbnail property. A Thumbnail property (Pro) sets each page’s featured image, which your theme shows and the Grid uses for its cards. Give the template a featured image of its own as the fallback for rows without a photo.
