Thumbnail widget

The Thumbnail widget shows the featured image of the generated page, such as a photo of each town. Find it in the RowSprout group of the widget panel while you edit a template.

Each generated page gets a featured image from:

  1. the row’s Thumbnail property, if the template has one and the row has an image;
  2. otherwise, for a child template, the parent’s image for that row;
  3. otherwise, the template’s own featured image.

The widget shows that image. Because it is the page’s real featured image, the Grid cards and your theme use it too.

Content tab:

Setting What it does
Fallback Thumbnail The image the widget shows while you edit the template, since the template itself has no row.
Thumbnail size Thumbnail, Medium, Large or Full.

Style tab, Image section: Alignment, Width, Max Width, Height, and with a height set Object Fit and Object Position.

A page without any featured image shows the text No thumbnail available for this page. Give the template a featured image to make sure every page has one.
