Date widget
The Date widget shows a Date or Date and time property, such as the date a new branch opens: Open from 1 November 2026. Find it in the RowSprout group of the widget panel while you edit a template.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Content tab:

| Date property | The Date or Date and time property to show. |
| Format | Site date format uses the format from Settings → General. Four ready-made formats are listed as examples (such as 1 November 2026 and 01-11-2026), and Custom lets you enter your own. |
| Custom format | With Custom: a PHP date format, such as j F Y (1 November 2026) or d/m/Y (01/11/2026). |
| Show time | For Date and time properties: add the time, in the site’s time format. Not available with a custom format, which can include the time itself (j F Y H:i). |
| Text before | Text in front of the date, such as Available from. |
| HTML tag | span, p, div, H2, H3 or H4. Default: p. |
| Fallback text | Shown when the row leaves the property empty. |

How it works
Section titled “How it works”The date is shown in the site’s language, so month names follow your WordPress language. It is marked up as a <time> element with the date in machine-readable form, which helps search engines read it.
